Pawpaws vs Beetles

The recent attack of the Japanese beetles revealed that the pawpaw trees are really resistant to the beetles. We were forced to spray the grapes, asparagus and tomatoes. Later we noticed about a half dozen beetles on the pawpaws. The number was manageable, so we plucked them by hand. We found that most had died in situ and the rest we lethargic or comatose. Go aecetegin!

Perhapsm some pawpaws should be planted in amongst the whitebark pine to discourage the intruders?
